International street artist, Banksy, best known for his politically and socially inspired stencil art that can now be seen and bought all over the world recently cut his teeth on the most anti-mainstream, mainstream cartoon for adults, The Simpsons. Banksy constructed the opening “couch gag” that starts every Simpsons show. The combination of The Simpsons and Banksy are sinfully tongue in check as the artist takes a swipe at the phenomenon that is the Simpsons and Fox, the studio that produces the show, by showing cartoonist in sweat shop conditions and Simpsons merchandise boxes being sealed with a deceased dolphins head, while another worker punches holes in center of The Simpsons dvd using a unicorn…it looks better than it sounds…or maybe it sounds how it looks…check it out.
