Colleen Leader is the Co-Owner of Kicks by MKC, a new company that provides a unique spin on “traditional” portraits. As a mom with 4 small children (seven, five, three and five months), she knows how difficult it is to get everyone in the same room, to sit still, smile, stay clean and look great in a family photo, it’s basically impossible! FG: Why did you purchase them?
CL: My friend and business partner gave these to me for my birthday. Her closet is amazing and FULL of fabulous shoes like this, and I think she was tired of seeing me in either my sensible black “we have a meeting” heels or my scrubby old pink Chuck Taylors. She also knew I needed a good reason to put down the laptop, lunch boxes and laundry and go out on the town with my hubby, and these shoes are DEFINITELY that reason. Running a company and being a full-time mom is seriously exhausting, and if you’re not careful, all you’ll ever wear are the functional things, not the FUN things. These heels? Well, there’s nothing sensible about them and I LOVE it!
