Fight HIV Your Way Photo Contest featuring Sheryl Lee Ralph
World AIDS Day is December 1 and this year Friday Girl Correspondent Ashia R. Sims had the chance to chat with the incomparable Sheryl Lee Ralph about a wonderful photo contest that she is involved with. Not unlike the AIDS quilt that allows people to describe how they have been affected by HIV/AIDS, the HIV Photo Contest encourages people to submit photos that describe how they have been affected by the disease. Started in 2006, the contest has grown to include a dance component with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater that premiered on World AIDS Day in New York. It will also be included on Alvin Ailey’s 2012 National Tour.
