FG: How would you describe your personal style?

Saifra and Romaana Zia, Co-owners- Nyla Noor

RZ: Classic with a touch of colorful edge. I love to wear feminine dresses and classic outfits such as jeans and shrunken blazers but punctuate my outfits with colorful accessories that show some personality. A bright handbag, an eclectic bangle I picked up during my travels or a colorful flat are some of my favorite go to accents.

SZ: I like to be comfortable yet put together. I love shoes and handbags, so usually I pick my handbag/shoes first and work from there. I stick with basics and layer my clothes typically adding one statement piece such as a necklace or bangle.  Secretly though I do love my collection of Havianas flip flops!

FG: Name 5 items every woman should have in her closet.

RZ: A classic everyday handbag that is made well and last you for years,  a great pair of jeans,  a black shrunken blazer- it’s an instant way to dress up an outfit,  an LBD-Little black dresses can be worn everywhere from work to a wedding and a string of pearls. Sophisticated and chic a pearl necklace (real or fake) will dress up an outfit and make you look polished.

SZ:  A classic handbag in a classic color that fits your lifestyle and pulls the entire look together. Diamond studs, they make you feel like a million bucks and never go out of style.  A classic pump- wear them to work or wear them out, they never go out of style. A soft, well fitting white t-shirt/tank top- it goes with everything from a pair of jeans to a printed skirt. A soft wool or cashmere shawl- I have one and it was the best investment. It’s a great season-less piece that goes with everything.

FG: Who is your fashion icon and why?

SZ and RZ:  We both chose Kim Kardashian. When she is dressed up in her casual/ daytime clothes, she always looks polished without looking overdone. She sticks to classic looks and beautiful accessories to round out her outfits.

FG: What fashion trend is your least favorite?

RZ: Hosiery with holes ripped into them.

SZ: The huge bows worn on top of the head. Although a small bow to the side can look cute.

FG: What the weirdest item in your wardrobe?

RZ: It’s not weird, per say, but not necessarily practical. I have a Ukata, which is a a casual summer kimono. I had purchased and worn one when I was traveling in Japan. I have no reason to wear it but I adore it.

SZ: Devil horns and tail. It’s from a halloween costume!

FG: What is your style philosophy?

RZ: Wear what makes you feel good. Confidence is the best thing one can wear.

SZ: Fit is key and wear what looks good on you and makes you feel confident.
