FG: How would you describe your personal style?

Tara Luizzi, Tara Style DC

TL: I would say European Chic. I love the way Europeans dress as they are always put together. They believe in quality rather than quantity. They really know how to accessorize. You never see a woman in Europe without a great scarf, the perfect bag and they always have on the best shoes.

FG: Name 5 items every woman should have in her closet?

TL: A great fitting suit, a black dress, two pairs of jeans: one to wear with heels and one to wear with flats, an outerwear piece and a sexy pair of heels

FG: Who is your fashion icon and why?

TL: Coco Channel. I picked her because I feel she truly was the pioneer of women’s fashion and how we dress today. Before Coco Channel, no women wore black unless in mourning and certainly no women would be seen in public wearing pants. She literally changed how women dressed forever. She was an amazing fashion designer, but also a great business woman.

FG: What fashion trend is your least favorite?

TL: The legging. I think it has run its course. In reality, there are only a certain amount of people who can actually pull this look off. Now everyone is wearing them and that is not a good thing.

FG: What the weirdest item in your wardrobe?

TL: I cannot believe I am admitting to this, but a pair of bright green Croc’s. They were a joke gift, but I have to say I wear them around my house. They are ugly, but the most comfortable shoe’s especially after being in heels or platforms all day.

FG: What is your style philosophy?

TL: Fashion is not just what we wear. Rather it is an expression of who and what we are as individuals. You are what you wear!!
