FG: How would you describe your personal style?
NT: I would describe my style best as classic with a touch of eclectic edge. For the most part my style is often simple with some type of unexpected twist. The twist comes in when I add fun jewelry, play with colors, mix something new with something vintage or when I combine textures.
FG: Name 5 items every woman should have in her closet.
NT: A sexy black pump, a perfect fitting pair of jeans in a dark rinse, a statement belt, a classic sheath dress and a seasonless blazer.
FG: Who is your fashion icon and why?
NT: Diana Ross! She’s the epitome of superstar glamour. Having designed the clothing worn in the movie Mahogny, speaks volumes about her stlye and eye for design. And she added that extra va-va-voom, whenever she was spotted in a dress designed by Bob Mackie. Needless to say, the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree because her daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, definitely inherited her momma’s style, too!
FG: What fashion trend is your least favorite?
NT: Right now, my least favorite trend are woven or cork heel wedges. I kinda think that the wooden heel wedges are more aesthetically pleasing, they’re more sleek!
FG: What the weirdest item in your wardrobe?
NT: I’m not into hoarding clothes or holding onto anything that doesn’t fit my shape or personal style or that I don’t like. To that point, there isn’t anything in my closet that’s weird.
FG: What is your style philosophy?
NT: Personal style is not one-size fits all…and never, ever, never spend a fortune on anything trendy!
