FG: How would you describe your personal style?
SM: Always feminine, but never girly. Always up to date with trends but not much of a risk taker. Timeless, so I don’t feel guilty buying something too pricey (I like keep things a long time). It has to fit well on me and I have to feel good wearing it, or it’s just not going to make the cut.
FG: Name 5 items every woman should have in her closet.
SM: Only 5?! Then it will have to be my “private collection”.. A dressy pair of skinny jeans! Not just for going out, but you’ll look hot in them when you’re out running errands. Tall, black, platform boots, above the knee or even just below the knee (timeless). A multi-functioning scarf….one that you can wear in your hair, wrapped on the strap of a handbag, or tied around your hips poolside. A stunning, attention-grabbing clutch, in a wild color/s and texture. Think sequenced fucia tie-dye! Summer maxi dress. It looks so feminine when you walk and the fabric flows around you.
FG: Who is your fashion icon and why?
SM: Delphine Arnault. Classic, feminine, understated. She is the first and only woman to hold a director’s position at LVMH, largest luxury producing company in the world. Smart, and always looking great! What more could a girl ask for?
FG: What fashion trend is your least favorite?
SM: I would say Crocs, but you can’t call that a fashion trend, right? (Or Teva’s too) So I’ll say shoulder pads. Please tell me they are not coming back!
FG: What the weirdest item in your wardrobe?
SM: An Armani t-shirt I wore hired as a fragrance model years ago (I’m not telling how long ago) to promo at a Ricky Martin concert. Do the math, yes; it’s that old, but still cool!
FG: What is your style philosophy?
SM: Choose wisely, and wear it well.
