Happy Women’s Equality Day!!! 39 years ago today Representative, Bella Abzug (D-NY) got the U.S. Congress to designate August 26th as Women’s Equlaity Day. It is a salute to the efforts of a civil rights movement started by women in 1848 that eventually lead to the passage of the 19th ammendment, which allowed women to cast a ballot and vote. Let us remember that there are still some women in other parts of the world that are still fighitng to be recognized as citizens and human beings. Celebrate this day by expressing the brillance that is unique to you and only you because you are a woman. Here’ s to being a woman!!!
