Friday Girl TV was invited to attend an event hosted by Cate Adair, the costume designer for Desperate Housewives and we were very excited to meet her and learn more about Chamilia. Unfortunately we just missed Cate (darn that Atlanta traffic) but we did have an opportunity to learn more about Chamilia and Be the Match. We also had a chance to play with some beautiful beads and make some wonderful bracelets.

This is a wonderful organization that helps people who need bone marrow transplants through donors. For more information about Be the Match or to sign up, visit www.marrow.org.

Look at the pretty beads!

Gotta love the sparkles!

Jewelry love at first sight.

October loved the most sparkly, expensive beads!

These are the Be the Match beads. Lovely!

This is the most expensive bead and it's completely hand made.

It was a fabulous event held at Barron’s Fine Jewelry outside of Atlanta. In addition to the wonderful Chamilia display, there were lots of lovely, shiny baubles available for purchase. If you want to feed your bead/charm obsession or are interested in joining the ranks of the other Chamilia fans, visit www.chamilia.com to find a store that carries Chamilia near you. Don’t forget to visit www.marrow.org to learn more about Be the Match.

I’m glad to see fall fashions continue to incorporate beads, jewels, and adornments to classic pieces. Finding a great dress or top with added beading allows you to dress and go. No need for additional accessories when it’s all right there on the outfit.

Take a Look

Ruche is offering up this gorgeous sweater tank, perfect for an afternoon out. Charcoal gray and adorned with pearls, rhinestones, and ruffles, this tank can be paired with leggings or jeans. Pull on a simple bootie or black boot, and go. No need for a necklace, as the design offers up a perfect accessory all on its own.

Need a cute top for a casual day at work or a jaunt around town? The Gap is featuring this cotton cutie, adorned with jewels and falling below the waist. A great pair of booties and some skinny jeans would create the perfect casual weekend look.

This shirt from the GAP is so versatile!

But my favorite has to be . . .

Looking for something elegant and slightly exotic? Check out this gorgeous rounded neck dress from Macy’s, which pairs rhinestones with an exquisite applique pattern. Made of cotton and rayon, the dress is machine washable, hitting above the knee. This one would look fantastic with a great pair of heels.

This dress is simple AND chic
